Kit Hire Terms & Conditions

Whenever the customer (herein referred to as 'Client') schedules an item or service booking with Karma Studios ('Company'), the conditions outlined below are automatically accepted upon deposit payment and/or item pickup.

RENTAL GUIDELINES

  1. Ownership: All rented items are owned solely by the Company.

  2. Rental Duration: Items are leased for a span of 2 days, with the presumption of usage for just one day. A delay in returns past this period attracts an added 50% daily charge. If items remain unreturned after a week, it's deemed as theft, prompting police involvement. All charges in this contract remain enforceable.

  3. Item Return Standards: The Client is expected to give back items in their original state, tidied up and in their initial packaging. Costs arise for items returned otherwise. The Client agrees not to contest such charges, such as proposing to personally clean or repair the items.

  4. Initial Inspection: The Client must inspect all items before acquiring them. Any noted damages, malfunctions, or shortages should be promptly reported to the Company. In cases where the Company learns of these after the return or if the Client didn't check the items initially, the Client accepts all related charges.

  5. Item Appearance: If the Client books without first viewing the items, they acknowledge that online descriptions by the Company might not match their expectations. The Company isn't liable for any perceived unsuitability.

SERVICE GUIDELINES

  • Service agreements are based on predefined needs. Even if these needs diminish, the quoted service fee remains unchanged, and any deposit paid remains non-refundable.

  • If a service is canceled within 24 hours of its commencement, the full fee is due.

FINANCIAL TERMS

  • All quoted prices can be adjusted without prior notice.

  • The Client agrees to bear any costs the Company might incur in upholding the terms of this agreement, including administrative, legal, and collection expenses.

LOSS & DAMAGE POLICY

  • Rented items must be returned unblemished.

  • The Client holds responsibility for any item damage while in their care. This covers ensuring the items against theft, natural calamities, vandalism, and other potential damages or losses. Any losses or damages will result in charges equivalent to the replacement cost (plus shipping if needed). Any security deposits can be used against these charges, with any excess payable directly by the Client.

  • The Company retains ownership of even the damaged items.

PICKUP & DROP-OFF GUIDELINES

  • All items must be picked up from and returned to our location.

  • All rentals should be returned by 2 pm on the due date. Any delay results in a daily 25% penalty.

  • Remember, we're closed on Sundays and holidays. If your return day is such a day, it shifts to the next working day.

  • If someone else handles your items, ensure they understand this agreement, and our operational hours and location. Your obligations remain binding.

TRANSPORTATION

  • The Company isn’t responsible for unforeseen delays or damages during transit.

ACT OF FORCE MAJEURE

  • Karma Studios isn’t liable for any unavoidable and unpredictable events that hinder its service obligations. This includes, but isn’t limited to, natural disasters, government actions, war, theft, pandemics, or strikes. In such scenarios, the Company, at its discretion, can reschedule the booking within 6 months or offer a credit for future bookings.

LIABILITY RESTRICTIONS

Unless the Company violates the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Karma Studios’ maximum liability is limited to the amount paid by the Client. Karma Studios isn't responsible for any indirect, direct, or consequential losses or damages.

Business clients, as defined by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, can’t claim its provisions.
